Details that affect the outcome of the work
Mould identity
When a commercial product is made in several moulds, the form represented by a specimen must be clear. The control plan connects mould numbers to critical joint dimensions. Training compares report coverage with actual production variety and prevents mould changes from disappearing into maintenance records alone.
Interpreting density alone
Density can be a useful production indicator without directly representing every technical characteristic. Participants compare reports and dimensional records for products with similar density information. Each declared characteristic is linked to its own evidence, allowing excessive generalisations in sales language to be corrected.
Reworked components
Recutting a nonconforming component does not make the original measurement record sufficient for final acceptance. Final form and identity need confirmation. Consultancy links rework decisions, inspection results and release permission to prevent a segregated piece from accidentally returning to conforming stock.
EN 14309 Industrial EPS Insulation Products training
We help your team interpret the topic, ask the right questions and apply it in their own work.
Skills you will gain in training
- Match mould and report coverage
- Question density-based generalisations
- Trace acceptance after reworking
Training content
We use these topics to explore how standard requirements translate into your operations.
- Industrial EPS product identity
- Moulding and cutting records
- Density versus performance
- Joint fit and dimensional consistency
EN 14309 training examines the forms of expanded polystyrene offered for installation insulation alongside differences in production routes. AKREKAL compares identity and dimensional records for parts cut from EPS blocks and parts made in a specific mould. Participants develop a method for linking each data-sheet claim to its product and report without using density as a substitute for every performance characteristic.
In the example, two moulds supply one valve-box order. Joint faces and closed dimensions are compared, and the team investigates which mould the specimen records represent. Production date, raw material batch and post-cutting storage information reconstruct product identity. Participants learn why similar-looking parts do not automatically share technical evidence and how to transfer customer drawings into acceptance controls.
The internal audit follows nonconforming-part segregation and reworking for the same order. Has a recut component retained its identity, does the measurement record describe its final condition, and is the sales sheet connected to the right group? AKREKAL consultancy translates the answers into mould-based control and traceability. Production flexibility is retained while different moulds and processing routes remain visible in the declaration file.

Tell us about your consultancy needsLet’s prepare documents that demonstrate implementation.
One focus of the documentation review is “Mould identity”. The records are checked for scope, owner, revision and supporting basis so that they accurately reflect the work performed.
The work addresses topic-specific outputs such as “Mould-based control plan”. Gaps are identified using records actually used by your organisation. Ready-made documents that do not reflect the way you operate are not adopted without adaptation.
The difference between CE marking and certification
CE marking is a manufacturer’s declaration linked to the applicable product conformity requirements; it is not a general quality certificate. The route depends on the product and the applicable legislation. Not every product requires the same type of third-party certificate. AKREKAL provides consultancy on technical documentation, conformity assessment planning and application preparation. It does not take over the testing or certification decisions of authorised bodies.
Discuss your training, consultancy and preparation needs →One order from two moulds
- The situation
- Joint fit differs between valve boxes from different moulds.
- Training and consultancy work
- Mould identity, specimen coverage and final dimensions are compared.
- Intended output
- Mould-specific control gaps and the acceptance status of reworked parts become clear.
Let’s clarify your needs more quickly.
Sharing the following information helps us define scope and priorities accurately.
- Mould-to-product mapping
- Customer component drawings
- Production and rework records
Product assessment under EN 14309 is not an installation design or a general suitability decision for other foam materials.
Before you decide
Can equal density justify a shared report?
That information alone is insufficient; product form and the characteristics represented by the report need evaluation.
Does training include production records?
Yes. Moulding, cutting and rework records are linked to the technical declaration through one order.
