Sound knowledge, a practical work plan.
Connect column sections, reinforcement, luminaires and project inputs to the product performance file.

Details that affect the outcome of the work
Reinforcement and construction
Reinforced and prestressed columns should not be described ambiguously through one production record. Sections and reinforcement information are linked to identity. Training reads batches, drawings and acceptance together, preventing different constructions with similar appearance from sharing one file without justification.
Luminaire and bracket inputs
Luminaire mass, geometry and bracket arrangement should be explicit in the technical assessment. Consultancy compares offered equipment with recorded inputs. It establishes a review workflow preventing a larger or differently shaped luminaire being accepted solely because the mounting connection fits.
Different performance questions
Wind-related evidence does not show that vehicle-impact behaviour has also been established. Training identifies the basis of each declaration separately. Customer requirements are mapped to evidence, replacing a vague durable-column claim with clear assessed characteristics and unresolved questions.
EN 40-4 Reinforced and Prestressed Concrete Lighting Columns training
We help your team interpret the topic, ask the right questions and apply it in their own work.
Skills you will gain in training
- Distinguish concrete column construction
- Match luminaire and bracket inputs
- Separate performance evidence categories
Training content
We use these topics to explore how standard requirements translate into your operations.
- Reinforced versus prestressed columns
- Column, bracket and luminaire arrangement
- Reinforcement and production traceability
- Wind versus vehicle-impact evidence
EN 40-4 training defines reinforced and prestressed concrete lighting columns through their construction and supported equipment. AKREKAL reads sections alongside reinforcement or prestressing information, brackets and luminaires. Participants learn why height and appearance alone do not justify selection and compare assessment inputs with the arrangement actually offered. Wind-load and vehicle-impact evidence are not treated as interchangeable.
In the example, an existing column model is offered with a larger luminaire and a different bracket. The team compares the new luminaire's mass and geometry, bracket arrangement and inputs used previously. An accepted column code does not automatically establish suitability for changed equipment. Missing project inputs are identified and the link between manufacturing records and engineering decisions is made explicit.
The internal audit traces a selected column from its production batch to reinforcement or prestressing records and final acceptance. Drawing details such as service openings are checked against the revision. AKREKAL consultancy establishes a scope structure matching column variants to luminaires and brackets. The team can explain the evidence behind an offered product without presenting it as approval of foundation design or every site condition.
Let’s turn knowledge into practice in your organisation.
We review your current situation, identify your priorities and provide organisation-specific support for the following work.
Column and equipment scope matrix
Reinforcement-product-batch traceability
Technical review of offer changes
Deliverables, responsibilities and assessment criteria are agreed together when defining the service scope.
Tell us about your consultancy needsLet’s prepare documents that demonstrate implementation.
One focus of the documentation review is “Reinforcement and construction”. The records are checked for scope, owner, revision and supporting basis so that they accurately reflect the work performed.
The work addresses topic-specific outputs such as “Column and equipment scope matrix”. Gaps are identified using records actually used by your organisation. Ready-made documents that do not reflect the way you operate are not adopted without adaptation.
The difference between CE marking and certification
CE marking is a manufacturer’s declaration linked to the applicable product conformity requirements; it is not a general quality certificate. The route depends on the product and the applicable legislation. Not every product requires the same type of third-party certificate. AKREKAL provides consultancy on technical documentation, conformity assessment planning and application preparation. It does not take over the testing or certification decisions of authorised bodies.

- The situation
- New equipment is added to an existing column file without review.
- Training and consultancy work
- Equipment inputs and previous assessment boundaries are compared.
- Intended output
- Missing project information and changes needing a technical decision are identified.
Let’s clarify your needs more quickly.
Sharing the following information helps us define scope and priorities accurately.
- Column sections and reinforcement drawings
- Luminaire and bracket information
- Production and assessment records
The product scope does not establish unlimited suitability for every height or luminaire; project and foundation assessment remain separate.
Before you decide
Are all concrete columns of equal height equivalent?
Sections, construction, equipment and technical evidence require joint review.
Does this approve foundation design?
The scope is product-standard training and file consultancy; foundation and site engineering are evaluated separately.
