Sound knowledge, a practical work plan.
AKREKAL training and consultancy connecting process decisions, responsibilities and assessment evidence in the development of safety-related systems.
system and software development teams, safety engineers, project quality staff and process assessors.
Details that affect the outcome of the work
Trace the decision into practice
Completing a safety analysis does not demonstrate that its conclusions reached every relevant work product. Training follows decisions and implementation records together. Consultancy maps affected roles and documents, seeking evidence of how the decision was addressed in practice rather than merely confirming the analysis exists.
Explain model boundaries together
Considering safety processes separately from system and software life cycle activities can give the same evidence conflicting meanings. Participants compare the purposes and boundaries of selected models. AKREKAL preparation explains which records support which processes and reveals gaps and overlaps in the shared file.
Distinguish process assessment from product approval
A favourable process-assessment finding is not independent approval that a product meets every safety requirement. Training states the boundaries of result use. Consultancy distinguishes product-related technical decisions from process-improvement outputs and makes the scope of customer-facing statements explicit.
ISO/IEC TS 33064 Safety Process Assessment training
We help your team interpret the topic, ask the right questions and apply it in their own work.
Skills you will gain in training
- Connect safety decisions to records of process implementation
- Explain assessment boundaries across system and software models
- Distinguish product safety decisions from process findings
Training content
We use these topics to explore how standard requirements translate into your operations.
- Scope of safety-process assessment
- Use alongside system and software assessment models
- Connecting safety decisions to process evidence
- Effects of changes on responsibilities and records
- Distinguishing process improvement from product approval
A sound safety-related decision also needs an explanation of how work and records put it into practice. AKREKAL training explores ISO/IEC TS 33064 through assessment of safety activities within system and software development processes. Participants establish the boundaries of the processes examined and their relationship to other assessment models. An illustrative project connects safety rationale, responsible teams and change records.
The exercise follows the assessment of a design change and its transfer to affected teams. Documentation makes the decision’s basis and affected work products visible, beyond a signed approval sheet. Internal review distinguishes completing a technical analysis from implementing its conclusions. Open points are recorded with assessment scope and evidence limitations; missing information is not treated as a positive process result.
AKREKAL consultancy helps review connections between safety activities and system and software process records. A selected pilot file examines tasks, decision handovers and change follow-up. The objective is to explain the evidence needed for process-assessment preparation without replacing authorised decisions about product safety. Findings are linked to improvement actions with named owners, and implementation records for the next review are agreed together.
Let’s turn knowledge into practice in your organisation.
We review your current situation, identify your priorities and provide organisation-specific support for the following work.
A safety-process and assessment-scope mapping
A decision, change and responsibility evidence map
Pilot-review findings and an improvement follow-up plan
Deliverables, responsibilities and assessment criteria are agreed together when defining the service scope.
Tell us about your consultancy needsLet’s prepare documents that demonstrate implementation.
One focus of the documentation review is “Trace the decision into practice”. The records are checked for scope, owner, revision and supporting basis so that they accurately reflect the work performed.
The work addresses topic-specific outputs such as “A safety-process and assessment-scope mapping”. Gaps are identified using records actually used by your organisation. Ready-made documents that do not reflect the way you operate are not adopted without adaptation.
Process assessment and certification
A process-assessment result must be read alongside its selected model, assessed processes, measurement framework and evidence scope. Naming a document in the ISO/IEC 330xx family does not automatically establish organisational certification or a particular capability rating. AKREKAL provides training and consultancy for model selection, assessment preparation and improvement implementation. The basis of any requested report or certificate, and the conditions of any relevant scheme, are clarified at the outset.
Discuss your training, consultancy and preparation needs →A decision record without an implementation link
- The situation
- A design change was reviewed, but the release and teams receiving the safety decision cannot be identified.
- Training and consultancy work
- Decision rationale, responsibilities and affected work products are traced to identify gaps in process evidence.
- Intended output
- A connected preparation file explains assessment scope and improvement needs.
Let’s clarify your needs more quickly.
Sharing the following information helps us define scope and priorities accurately.
- Project scope of safety activities
- Example decision and change records
- System and software process responsibilities
ISO/IEC TS 33064:2025 is the current Technical Specification, replacing ISO/IEC TS 15504-10. It addresses safety-process assessment; it is not a product certificate or an approval of a product’s functional safety level.
Before you decide
Does this training approve a product’s safety level?
No. It prepares teams for assessment of safety processes. Product safety requirements, applicable technical standards and authorised evaluation conditions are addressed separately.
Can it be used with ISO/IEC TS 33060 and 33061?
ISO/IEC TS 33064 supports these models when assessing processes used to develop safety-related systems. AKREKAL defines the work scope around selected processes and available project records.
