Sound knowledge, a practical work plan.
Preparation under EU chemicals regulation aims to identify the organisation's supply-chain role, substance uses and relevant obligations for each product.
Manufacturers and exporters supplying chemicals or articles to the EU market.
Details that affect the outcome of the work
Substances, mixtures and articles
These distinctions affect information needs and obligation assessments. Explain product function and composition at the outset. ECHA describes REACH as a broad chemicals regulatory framework. Treating a product as an article or mixture raises different questions; do not establish obligations from trade names alone.
Supply-chain role
Parties inside and outside the EU have different duties. Identify responsible parties through manufacturing, importing and supply relationships. Record non-EU manufacturer and EU importer roles separately. Include which parties can access substance information and how they communicate safety information through the supply chain in the work plan.
Matters beyond registration
Registration information alone does not address every REACH matter. Assess restrictions, authorisation and relevant communication requirements separately within product scope. Track registration status, uses and other relevant restriction or communication matters under separate headings. State clearly which of these a supplier declaration supports.
REACH Registration and Compliance training
We help your team interpret the topic, ask the right questions and apply it in their own work.
Skills you will gain in training
- Distinguish substances, mixtures and articles through examples.
- Match supply-chain roles to data needs.
- Question the scope and currency of supplier declarations.
Training content
We use these topics to explore how standard requirements translate into your operations.
- Substances versus articles
- Supply-chain roles
- Registration and safety information
- Tracking restrictions and authorisation matters
Let’s turn knowledge into practice in your organisation.
We review your current situation, identify your priorities and provide organisation-specific support for the following work.
A product- and role-based preliminary REACH assessment matrix.
A substance-identity and supplier-evidence gap list.
A workflow for safety information and change monitoring.
Deliverables, responsibilities and assessment criteria are agreed together when defining the service scope.
Tell us about your consultancy needsLet’s prepare documents that demonstrate implementation.
One focus of the documentation review is “Substances, mixtures and articles”. The records are checked for scope, owner, revision and supporting basis so that they accurately reflect the work performed.
The work addresses topic-specific outputs such as “A product- and role-based preliminary REACH assessment matrix”. Gaps are identified using records actually used by your organisation. Ready-made documents that do not reflect the way you operate are not adopted without adaptation.
Certification and assessment conditions
Training participation, practical competence and product or organisational certification involve different assessments. For REACH Registration and Compliance, we clarify which activity, person or product the requested certificate covers and the assessment on which it is based. Requirements of the scheme owner or relevant body are reviewed for the agreed scope. AKREKAL provides training and preparation consultancy; it does not guarantee an authorised third party’s certification decision or outcome.
Discuss your training, consultancy and preparation needs →Collecting substance information for articles
- The situation
- Component suppliers provide only general conformity declarations.
- Training and consultancy work
- Compare declaration scope with product identity.
- Intended output
- Identify additional information and communication responsibilities.
Let’s clarify your needs more quickly.
Sharing the following information helps us define scope and priorities accurately.
- Product composition and use
- EU supply-chain information
- Existing safety and conformity declarations
There is no single general REACH product certificate; examine role-, substance-, use- and quantity-dependent obligations separately.
Before you decide
Is a general product certificate sufficient for REACH?
REACH assessment depends on role, substances, product characteristics and use. Do not accept a general certificate as the sole evidence satisfying every obligation.
Is a supplier statement saying only REACH compliant sufficient?
It must be clear which products, substances, scope and date the declaration represents. A general sentence may not resolve role-specific questions or necessary safety and use information.
